Namasté Beach Club, Hotel & Centro Holístico in Cartagena offers a truly relaxing escape located on Isla de Tierra Bomba. Transportation is part of the experience—you can arrange for a boat pickup from Castillo Grande. Just keep in mind that there’s no dock on that side, so it’s best to bring flip-flops or waterproof shoes. Once you arrive at Tierra Bomba, you’ll find a proper dock, making the rest of your arrival smooth. The property itself feels like a dream. The "central plaza", where the restaurant is located, is beautifully designed and sets the tone for the entire stay. Toward the back, there’s a lovely freshwater pool surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for unwinding. They also offer wellness-focused activities such as yoga sessions, fire ceremonies, and massages, all aligned with the holistic concept of the place. From the island, you get a fantastic view of Cartagena’s skyline on the mainland, which adds a special touch, especially at sunset. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed. I stayed in the Medusa Room, which features a queen bed and is located right by the beach, offering a private and tranquil atmosphere. If your goal is to disconnect and relax, this is the perfect place. You can enjoy long walks on the beach, bonfires at night, and plenty of cozy spots like lounge chairs and hammocks to unwind. You’ll also find locals offering jet ski experiences nearby—definitely worth trying. The only area for improvement, in my opinion, is the restaurant billing system. All food charges are settled per meal at check-out rather than per meal. I was informed that this is due to the restaurant being managed separately and previous instances of guests leaving without paying. While this is understandable, a more flexible system would enhance the overall experience. Overall, Namasté Beach Club is a fantastic option for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and fully embracing a slower, more peaceful rhythm.

A very nice tranquil experience, the personnel treats you very well, everyone is very kind. You've got your own place with a mattress, chairs and a table right at the beach. Access to the sea and the pool. The only disadvantage I would say is that the food is very expensive and not very special. But probably the prices are as high as on the other islands. Overall a great experience!

I admire what this resort is seeking to create: a serene environment centered on restoration and mindfulness. Daily yoga (11 a.m. only, no longer 8 a.m.), meditation (3 p.m.), and a fire ceremony (6:30 p.m.) anchor the experience, while many thoughtfully designed spaces invite lounging, reading, and shedding frenetic city energy. The grounds themselves are truly beautiful. The staff is exceptional and attentive—from the boat transfer guys to the meticulous leaf-sweeping, pool maintenance, housekeeping, and restaurant service. A special mention for John/Juan, whose warmth and open, welcoming presence makes guests of all experience levels feel comfortable participating at whatever depth they choose. It's helpful to speak at least some Spanish to be able to participate fully, but even if you don't, the staff work hard to accommodate. Travelers new to this style of travel should be prepared for adjustments: no hot water means taking late-afternoon showers (warmer), not morning; toilet paper goes in a bin rather than flushed—a common practice in Cartagena (maybe they need signs for foreigners not used to the practice?). Minor drawbacks: Food options feel limited for guests who don’t eat shellfish and seek healthy options (for example, no chicken both days I attempted to order it). Music played on the beach can be louder than ideal for those hoping to read, nap, or fully unwind, creating a slight disconnect with the relaxation-focused ethos. Additionally, Namaste sits between two busy beaches, and jet skis often buzz uncomfortably close, posing both a distraction and a safety concern for swimmers. That said, for those seeking something different, this is a charming, distinctive and rewarding destination.
