DescriptionLess touristy than its neighbor Monserrate, Guadalupe hill offers the same incredible views from the top of its sanctuary housed at 3,317 meters above sea level. Meet your guide in the heart of the Candelaria neighborhood to begin your excursion towards the top of the mountain. Hike up the unpaved roads with your professional guide while listening to the stories and seeing the best forests and landscapes around Bogotá. When reaching the top, you will learn about the first chapel, built in 1656, that was destroyed by four tremors, the most recent one in 1917. You will visit the new rebuilt sanctuary and the 15-meter statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the work of local artist Gustavo Arcila Uribe, which is also appreciated from the bottom of the hill and all through the city. You will have some time to wander around and see the incredible views of the city including the neighbor hill of Monserrate seen from above. After you have taken some incredible pictures or visited the different stands that sell a huge variety of typical Colombian food, your guide will begin the descent and drop you off at the same place the tour started.
