We will start the tour from the informed meeting point , remember to look for the guide with the red jacket. 2:00 PM - We will depart from the meeting point towards Plaza Santander, where an equestrian statue of General Francisco de Paula Santander presides over the space. The guide will share details about the history of this hero of independence while you enjoy thecontemporary architecture that surrounds the square. You will be able to come across artisans, street vendors, graffiti artists, athletes practicing skateboarding and several shaded benches and green areas that will invite you to relax and contemplate the scene. 2:45 PM - We will continue towards the emblematic Plaza de Bolívar, the political heart of Colombia. The square is surrounded by three emblematic buildings: The National Capitol, with its imposing neoclassical architecture, houses the Congress of the Republic of Colombia. The Primate Cathedral, built in the XIX, is a magnificent example of religious architecture. The Palace of Justice, for its part, is a modern landmark that houses Colombia`s judicial system. During the day, the Plaza de Bolívar is a place where people gather to rest , enjoy the surroundings and observe everyday life. Fluttering pigeons, street musicians and street vendors contribute to thediversity and vitality of the place. 3:45 PM - We will ascend through the narrow streets from La Candelaria to the Chorro de Quevedo, a historical site considered the founding place of Bogotá. There, you will know the fountain that gives name to the place and was built in 1875, and the surrounding plaza that has witnessed the evolution of Bogotá over the centuries. You will learn about the pre-Columbian history of the region and the colonial era. In addition, Chorro de Quevedo has become the scene for cultural events and festivals that celebrate the artistic diversity of Bogotá. These events can range from poetry performances to impromptu concerts. There you will undoubtedly immerse yourself in the bohemian atmosphere of Bogotá. 4:30 PM - We will conclude the tour in the Plaza La Concordia, a renovated place that is characterized by its serene atmosphere, its restored colonial architecture, and the incredible panoramic views of the city. The square is surrounded by pastel-colored houses with wrought iron balconies, which evokes a transporting charm visitors to times past. The central element of the square is the Church of Concordia. This church, with its baroque style façade, adds a touch of religious splendor to the surroundings. Its interior houses artistic treasures and architectural details that reflect the cultural heritage of Bogotá. After visiting the market inside the square, we will close our walk with the tasting of a delicious and warm Colombian coffee, while we enjoy the great views from the terrace of the place. After 3 hours of walking, you can choose to stay in the area or return with the guide to the initial meeting point.
