We went for dinner, on a Monday night, it was packed - you need to book in advance. There was a live band in full swing when we sat down. The band's volume can be high, but they are great musicians. We ordered the Bombon de Solomito (sirloin steak stuffed with melted cheese) for starter, and 2 types of ceviche. Amazing food, the service was great, we did not drink alcohol, just Coke and a sparkling water. We skipped desserts and enjoyed a brilliant cup of coffee. All in all, a great dinner at an amazing restaurant. Go for it!
Went for dinner yesterday, our last night in Cartagena, and to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Rafinha was the best! Excellent service, the food was lovely, and live music was great, although a little loud, during dinner. Great experience! Wished you could offer additional tip options on the card machine for servers!
We went for dinner and because of the live music. It was an interesting mix of Latin music and classic American tunes. We started with cocktails, I had a Moscow Mule and my partner had a Negroni. Nothing particularly special to report but both made well. For dinner, we consulted with our waiter and decided to start with the Chicharrón Mixto and the Bombones de Solomito. The mixto was tasty but very simple. The breaded and friend fish was a little soggy. The calamari and shrimp were done well. The Solomito however was incredibly delicious! Perfectly cooked and a very rich flavor. For the main course we shared Langostinos Criollos. We were expecting langoustines hut they were actually simply shrimp of moderate size. It was served on a delicious sweet corn bread on a large plate with a rich coconut and Spanish chorizo sauce. While the shrimp were a bit disappointing the plate was balanced and full of contrasts in flavor. The only thing I didn’t care for is that our server, came to us at the end and said the built in service charge is shared and that if we wanted to tip extra in cash for him he’d appreciate it. Then when. We went to find change no one had anything less than 50. Considering they are supposed to confirm the tip not ask for more, it was a bit off putting. Service was slow and the restaurant was full be patient.
Mistura in Cartagena is a great restaurant. The food is spectacular and full of flavor. The staff is super friendly and gives great recommendations, especially for the rice dishes and the drinks. That was a big plus. The environment is very nice, cozy, and well decorated. A really enjoyable place to eat.
