I should have come here earlier in my trip. The avocado toast was just perfect on homemade seeded soft bread with a mildly chewy crust. I had a passion fruit juice, freshly made with some blended ice. The almond croissant was crispy and chewy and buttery with a creamier almond cream than I’m use to. It was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the best meals I had here during my trip.
We had our anniversary dinner at Carta Ajena. What a beautiful space! I loved the aesthetics and vibe. The complimentary bread and hummus was so tasty. It’s not a huge serving so you still have room for an appetizer. I don’t think I’ve ever had such smooth, creamy hummus. We got the margherita pizza as an appetizer, my husband had a burger and I had the shrimp caldoso rice and fish chicharrón. All our food was delicious—some of the best food we had all weekend! The only complaint we had is something is going on with their ac and the small fan they had in the dining area wasn’t cutting it. I felt warm but my husband was hot. We still enjoyed our evening.
The food is truly excellent, I had the shrimp cocktail, patacones, shakshuka, chips, mango ceviche, Viejo Cubano, margaritas and a bunch of other things. The only thing I didn't care for was the pizza. The service could be better, sometimes it would take awhile to get someone's attention and then it'd take awhile to get your food or drinks but the wait was worth it. The shrimp, cappuccinos and cocktails were amazing.
Best place ever overall! Whatever you pick, you will love it, there is nothing that I ordered that I didn’t love! Highly recommended and worth every penny! Roberto and his team were very polite and friendly. My husband and I really loved the culinary experience!
We regrettably were not staying at this hotel, because it looked AWESOME. The restaurant was stunning. Some of the best food we have had during our time in Cartegena. I ordered a cocktail, and I as a bartender of over 15 years I have to say I was impressed. Balanced, refreshing, attractive, just wonderful. My steak was charred perfectly to what I asked for and the salad was citrusy and cut through the fatty tenderloin, which paired perfectly. My fiancé and I both loved our dishes. Highly recommend!
