Description
We'll start our experience in Salento, where we'll board a traditional 4x4 Jeep Willys to head to the iconic Cocora Valley, on a 25-minute ride through mountainous landscapes.
Upon arrival, we'll start a 4 km guided hike around the valley, visiting natural viewpoints, sculptures, and strategic points from where you can appreciate the majesty of the wax palms. During the tour, our local guides will share information about the history, biodiversity, and culture of the region, as well as help you observe birds typical of the Andean ecosystem.
On the way, we'll take a detour to a beautiful waterfall, which you can reach via a 2 km mountain trail (round trip). The path might be muddy due to the humidity of the forest, which makes it an authentic experience in a completely natural and untouched environment, a true secret in the middle of the mountains.
After enjoying this unique landscape, we'll head back to the Jeep and descend again to Salento. There, we'll take a guided walk through the town's main streets, where you'll learn about its history, architecture, and traditions.
Then we'll enjoy a typical lunch at a local restaurant, with traditional options and flavors of the region.
Finally, we'll head to a traditional coffee farm for a full coffee tour, lasting approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. There, you'll learn about the artisanal process of Colombian coffee, from the plant to the cup, walking among coffee plantations, learning about the cultivation methods, and finishing with a delicious special coffee tasting.
This experience combines nature, culture, gastronomy, and coffee tradition in a single day so you can experience the best of Salento and its surroundings.
