La Matraca is a ballroom style café. Popularly known as 'the cave of tango', this bar-dance hall is a refreshing alternative to the numerous salsa places in town. La Matraca is all about the slow dances: tango, milonga, and waltzes.
La Matraca has seen many a famous dancer strut their stuff on its floor, including world milonga champion, Miguel Angel Soto Argentine, and Columbian dancer, Benjamin Mincho Garcia.
There is a bar area and a dancing area. You can relax with a mojito or you can get up and try your hand at tango or milonga. There are also plenty of fantastic dance shows and competitions here, such as international tango competitions, dance-based plays, and Cuban nights.
