Directions to Providence
In Providence, the most important way is the circumvent way around the island. The first place to visit, to set the transport and stock up on, is the center known as Santa Isabel. The supermarkets and the tourist office are in the center. By the same route to the southwest, one reaches the Old Town, the oldest town, and then the road follows to Fresh Water Bay, where there are cabins for lodging and a small restaurant area. By the same way, one goes to Bottom House, village that leads into Manchanel Bay, the best Providence beaches.
There is an incredible ride for tourists loving nature. It starts on the pier next to Santa Isabel and reaches the Cabeza de Morgan (Morgan Head), stone carved by the wind and sea that resembles a human face. So the Cayo Santa Catalina is surrounded, separated from Providencia through an artificial dam, built by the pirate Morgan, for defense from invaders. Leaving there it is seen Crab Cay, with its colorful pier that welcomes Mac Bean Lagoon Natural Park. Like the Three Brothers, it is an excellent place for snorkeling for its diversity of fauna. The tour continues by boat to Manchanel Bay, the best Providence's beaches and where one can delight with the local cuisine.
