Description

Minca, the eco-friendly capital of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, is just 13 km from Santa Marta and 700 meters above sea level. Thanks to its height, it offers a perfect setting to enjoy its beautiful waterfalls and three unique natural environments, surrounded by the most varied flora and fauna you can imagine. When we get to Minca, we'll start our tour in a 4x4 van, crossing the tropical rainforest and unpaved roads (trail). On this adventure, after a short 20-minute uphill hike, you'll visit Marinka 1 and 2 waterfalls, each 30 meters high, which makes them one of the most visited attractions. Then you'll start a 50-minute hike on dirt tracks downhill to the Ojo del Mundo waterfall, a sacred place for the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada. At each waterfall, you'll have 60 minutes to enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters coming from the Sierra Nevada. Then, we'll continue the walk for 45 minutes until we reach Casa Jocolate, where you'll enjoy a delicious homemade lunch with vegetarian or vegan options. After that, we'll do an artisanal chocolate workshop (not at the finca). It's an immersive and sensory experience, where you can activate all your senses and connect with the essence of the Sierra. (Tasting Baileys and caramelized cocoa, creating your own chocolate bar, and applying a mask). We'll finish by heading back to Santa Marta along the same route.
