Handpicked by a Local Expert
Check out the most emblematic buildings of the Colombian capital on this Bogotá architecture tour, exploring the different colonial, French and modern styles the city features.
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from two options. Both include pickup from your hotel at the indicated time, drop-off at the end of the tour, and an exclusive English-speaking guide.
After pickup, the tour will visit the Centro Internacional de Bogotá, one of the first large-scale business hubs. Next is the La Candelaria neighbourhood, established in the 16th century, featuring colonial streets, churches like San Ignacio and Santa Clara, as well as the Plaza de Bolívar. A panoramic view of Santafé showcases architectural styles including Austrian, Art Deco, and German influences. The tour also includes the vibrant Macarena neighbourhood, the neighbourhoods of Teusaquillo and La Magdalena, discussing the migration wave in the 20th century that influenced developments like Simón Bolívar Central Park and Virgilio Barco Library. The last stop will be the Usaquén flea market for a half-hour lunch break, followed by drop-off at your hotel after 5 hours.
The 10-hour tour follows the same route but allows for more in-depth discussion of the buildings’ histories. In the afternoon, visit the neighbourhoods of Santa Ana and Santa Barbara, learning about the effects of politician Jorge Eliecer Gaitan’s assassination on urban planning. The tour concludes with views from Parque de la 93 and the Zona Rosa, before drop-off at your hotel.
This tour includes pickup from hotels located in the Metropolitan Area of Bogotá. If your accommodation is outside this area, we will arrange a meeting point.
