Just 2 hours from Bucaramanga, the drive to this spot is an adventure in itself, as it winds through the stunning Suárez River canyon, where you'll spot pineapple and prickly pear cactus fields and catch glimpses of wild goats in the landscape. In Zapatoca, you'll find places full of history and nature, like the Nitro Cave, a natural spot that the natives used as a refuge back in the day and is now the only cave in Colombia with indoor lighting. You can also explore the historic Caminos de Lenguerke, which link up with the town center, where you'll find churches from different centuries, colonial architecture, and a peaceful atmosphere that keeps the spirit of heritage villages alive.
