Description

Cocora Valley Hiking Tour + Acaime Reserve (14 km / 5 to 6 hours approx.) ✅ Start of the tour: We will meet in the main park of Salento or in the Cocora Valley (depending on your location or agreed meeting point). From there, we will begin the hike through the iconic Cocora Valley, home to the wax palm, Colombia's national tree. Here you will have time to take photos and enjoy the breathtaking views. ✅ Suspension Bridges and Cloud Forest: We will begin the ascent by crossing several suspension bridges over the Quindío River. We will walk along a beautiful trail surrounded by cloud forest, with sightings of local flora and fauna. ✅ Arrival at the Acaime Reserve (House of Hummingbirds): After approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of walking, we will arrive at the Acaime Reserve, where you can observe several species of hummingbirds and enjoy a hot drink (panela water with cheese or traditional coffee). ✅ Rest and return: After resting in Acaime, we will begin the descent along the same trail or, if you prefer, we can return via an alternate route (depending on weather conditions and the group). During the descent, we will continue to enjoy unique views of the Cocora Valley and its mountains. ✅ End of the tour: The hike ends back in the Cocora Valley, where you will have time to have lunch (optional) or rest before returning to Salento. ⸻ Total distance: 14 km Approximate duration: 5 to 6 hours Difficulty level: Moderate (good physical condition and a taste for hiking are required).
