Begin your journey around 10 AM, following quiet country lanes northwest of Filandia. Wind through breathtaking valleys, past traditional coffee plantations, green pastures dotted with cows, mules, and horses, and through bamboo forests alive with birds and butterflies. Pass remote rural villages and experience the real Colombia—where locals live off the land and construct their homes with natural, local materials. After about 3 hours of scenic riding, reach the crystal-clear waters of El Río. Relax, enjoy a picnic lunch and a cold beer, and even take a swim—horses included. Brave the refreshing mountain waters or simply soak in the beauty of nature from the riverbank. The return ride takes a different route across the valley, offering more incredible views as you make your way back.
