Description
Begin your birding adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Bogota. Head to Chingaza National Natural Park, an Important Bird Area (IBA) about 2 hours outside of Bogota.
Spend about 4 hours at Chingaza with an expert guide, where you could see the majestic Andean Condor, Cauca Guan (Penelope perspicax), Brown-breasted Parakeet (Pyrrhura calliptera), Green-bearded Helmetcrest (Oxypogon guerinii), Silvery-throated Spinetail (Synallaxis subpudica), amongst other endemic bird species.
Afterwards, transfer to La Calera to visit a beautiful hummingbird observatory. Watch these colorful creatures flit around in the quaint courtyard of this grand old observatory snuggled between the mountains.
Enjoy a traditional Colombian lunch, where you will learn a little more about Colombian culture before returning to Bogota.
