Description
We'll pick you up at your accommodation in Popayán at 8:30 a.m. to start a trip full of culture, nature, and tradition. The drive takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach the charming municipality of Silvia, located in the northeast of the department of Cauca. From the start, you'll enjoy the Andean landscape that accompanies the entire route.
Our first stop will be at the Mirador de Silvia, a panoramic point from which you get a spectacular view of the town, the crops and the mountains that surround the Misak territory. It's the perfect place to take pictures and learn about the history and worldview of this indigenous community.
Then we'll head to the center of the municipality for a guided tour of the town of Silvia, walking through its traditional streets and learning about its cultural dynamics. (If it's a Tuesday, we'll visit the traditional market). Later, we'll visit the Mirador de Belén, one of the most photogenic sites on the tour due to its privileged view of the valley and the architecture of the area.
At noon, we'll head to a traditional restaurant for a typical lunch, which includes a main course and a drink. It'll be the perfect time to try the typical flavors of Cauca cuisine and rest before continuing with the experience.
After lunch, we'll visit the Silvia Botanical Garden, a historic space where we'll learn about aspects of traditional Misak medicine and its relationship with nature and the spiritual harmony of the territory.
Finally, we'll head back to Popayán, arriving at approximately 5:30 p.m., after a day full of learning, unique landscapes, and a respectful approach to the cultural richness of the Misak people.
