Discover the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá on a day trip from Bogotá and explore one of the most unique underground sites in Colombia. Travel through the Bogotá savanna while enjoying the landscapes of the high plain and arriving at the historic town of Zipaquirá.
Upon arriving at the Salt Cathedral, descend about 180 meters underground to explore its impressive tunnels and chambers carved out of an old salt mine. During the tour, you'll see the famous Stations of the Cross, the sculptures carved in salt, and the large chambers that are part of this underground complex.
As you make your way through the cathedral, you'll learn about the history of salt mining, the importance of this mineral to the region, and some aspects of Muisca culture.
