Description
Step onto Colombia's smallest agrotourism farm — and the only one holding three organic certifications — for a farm-to-table experience just outside Medellín. Your host Marta, an award-winning chef and farm owner, welcomes you personally into her garden and kitchen in Envigado for a hands-on cooking class rooted in conscious eating. After private pickup from your hotel or Airbnb in El Poblado or Laureles, you'll meet Marta and hear the story behind her award-winning farm. She'll walk you through her organic growing methods, guide you through the garden where much of today's menu is grown, and invite you to cook alongside her — or simply enjoy the live demonstration. Then it's time to eat. Sit outdoors and enjoy a 4-course seasonal lunch that may feature potato empanadas fried in fresh oil, vegetable rolls with tamarind sauce, stuffed criolla hen, or her tomato-and-mango garden salad. Save room for the signature homemade vanilla ice cream — made with vanilla grown on-site — served with red-berry sauce and 100% vegan spinach brownies. Before heading back, browse Marta's small farmers' market supporting neighboring producers.
