Description
This is an exclusive experience for amateur runners that gives them the opportunity to run through a beautiful part of Medellín, surrounded by tropical nature, modern architecture, and city views. It offers a peaceful environment, away from the traffic and hustle and bustle, passing by points of interest such as Parques del Río, Plaza Mayor, Barefoot Park, and Pueblito Paisa.
This tour includes pick-up from your accommodation in a luxury van, a bilingual guide (Spanish/English), fruit, and photos taken during the tour.
The experience is designed so that you return to your accommodation before 9:00 a.m. and do not disrupt any activities you have planned for the day.
Maximum of 6 people per tour.
The route is 7 km / 4 miles long, but it can be extended if you wish. The route is mostly flat and on paved surfaces, although there are short sections of dirt, cobblestones, and grass.
Upon arriving at the location, we will have a short technical briefing and preparation session, and then we will begin this wonderful tour:
SECTIONS OF THE TOUR:
* Sightseeing Warm-Up: For the first approximately 2 km / 1.2 mi, the pace is leisurely, your guide will tell you a bit about the places you see, and you can even stop to take photos. We will pass through Parques del Río, Plaza Mayor, and Barefoot Park.
* Picking Up the Pace: Over the next section of approximately 1.5 km / 1 mi, we'll pick up the pace a bit on flat terrain.
* Climb to Nutibarra Hill: For approximately 1.2 km / 0.7 miles, we will climb Nutibarra Hill, which is a natural park in the heart of Medellín (there are 2 flat rest stops, each approximately 100 m / 330 ft long), until we reach Pueblito Paisa, one of the city's iconic sites, which is a replica of a traditional small town in the region. There, we'll take a short break to recover and take some photos.
* Descent and Finish: For approximately 1 km / 0.6 miles, we descend the hill along an alternative route, which includes some steps and a dirt path, passing by open-air sculptures and forest. Upon returning to the base, we finish with a jog of approximately 700 m / 0.4 mi.
Before returning to our accommodation, we will have a few minutes to stretch, recover, and get to know each other better, while enjoying some Colombian fruit.
