Description

Explore the wonder of the Tatacoa Desert from Neiva with us! We start by picking you up at your hotel or at our cozy Backpackers Neiva. We will travel in comfortable private vehicles, arriving at Villavieja, where history awaits us in every corner, including the imposing Megaterio in its central plaza. We begin with a magical tour of the Magdalena River, observing biodiversity at its maximum splendor: turtles, exotic birds and the exuberant flora and vegetation that surrounds it. Entering our exclusive Backpackers Neiva nature reserve, we will witness a unique landscape, with lakes where reptiles and birds live. Learn the secrets and different types of cacti and their fascinating reproduction processes. Discover the mystery of the Red Desert, with its iron-soaked soil and paleontological treasures waiting to be unearthed at every turn. A regional lunch will give us energy to continue exploring, followed by relaxing free time in natural pools. We continue towards the Xilópalos Valley, a world of rock formations, fossils and canyons. Here, you will interact with the local community, contributing to its development while learning about its culture and traditions. We conclude this epic day at the Astronomical Observatory, where experts will guide you through the mysteries of the universe, thus completing an unforgettable experience of connection with nature, history, community and the cosmos. Join us on this unforgettable adventure!
