Starting with pickup from your hotel in Poblado, Laureles, Estadio, or Envigado, you will explore how Medellín reinvented itself through its art, its transportation, and the neighborhoods that led the change.
You'll start in Comuna 13, where a local guide who lives in the neighborhood will take you on a graffiti sightseeing tour, show you the outdoor public electric stairs—the first in the world built for public use—and take you to the dance and improvisation shows that made this hillside famous. Along the way, you'll try the traditional mango viche ice cream.
Next, you'll board the Metrocable for a tour over the city, taking in the mountainous landscape and the network of cable cars that connect the hillside neighborhoods with the city center.
In the center, you'll walk through Plaza Botero to see the 23 sculptures donated by Fernando Botero — the largest permanent open-air collection by a living artist — and the Rafael Uribe Uribe Palace of Culture, designed by Belgian architect Agustín Goovaerts in a Renaissance Gothic style.
The day ends at Barefoot Park and Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a traditional small town of Antioquia on the summit of Nutibarra Hill, with a panoramic view of Medellín before the drop-off at the hotel.
