Description

Discover some of the most fascinating destinations outside of Bogotá on a private full-day experience that combines spectacular landscapes, traditional villages, history, nature, and local flavors with a tour guide who will share their knowledge with you throughout the tour. The tour begins with pickup in Bogota, from where we head towards the Eastern mountains surrounding the city. Our first stop will be at the La Calera vantage point, a panoramic spot from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Bogotá savanna. We'll then visit the village of La Calera, a quiet Andean municipality known for its local atmosphere and natural landscapes. There, we'll also stop at the traditional Alto de las Arepas, where you can taste delicious typical arepas while enjoying the mountain scenery. The tour continues to the curious Casa Loca, a unique building designed to defy gravity and perception. Its sloping architecture creates fun optical illusions and is a perfect place to take pictures and have a different experience. We'll then head to the charming village of Guatavita, famous for its white architecture, quiet streets, and colorful balconies. Here you'll have time to explore the village, enjoy the atmosphere, and taste a delicious traditional dessert included in the experience. Later, we'll visit the mythical Guatavita Lagoon, one of the most iconic sites of the indigenous Muisca culture and the setting for the legendary El Dorado ceremony. During the visit, you'll learn about the history of this ancestral ritual while enjoying a unique natural environment surrounded by mountains. We'll continue the tour to Sesquilé, a picturesque Andean village surrounded by rural landscapes and local traditions. Finally, we will arrive at one of the most impressive places in Colombia: the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, an extraordinary feat of engineering built inside an old salt mine. During the tour, you'll be able to admire its underground tunnels, sculptures carved in salt, and illuminated spaces that create a unique atmosphere. Before leaving the city, we'll go to its beautiful main square and have a spectacular coffee experience. At the end of the experience, we will return to Bogotá in comfort, having visited some of the most representative destinations of the Cundiboyacense savanna in a single day.
