What it is (and what it isn't), so you know what to expect: Playa Linda is a laid-back, local beach day on Tierra Bomba Island, overlooking the open sea, just a 20-minute speedboat ride from El Laguito Beach in Cartagena. You come for a nearby sea, sun, a typical coastal lunch, and a comfortable place to relax all day, without having to get up early or travel to Barú or the Rosario Islands.
It's a semi-public beach area with a local and laid-back atmosphere. It is not a private club or a luxury island, and drinks and other extra items are paid for separately on site. As with any local beach, weekends tend to be busier. If you're looking for a nearby, authentic, and laid-back way to unwind close to the city, this is perfect. If you're expecting a private resort or picture-postcard turquoise waters, this is not the sightseeing tour for you.
What your day will be like: You'll board at El Laguito Beach from 9:00 AM and take a 20-minute boat ride to the Playa Linda area on Tierra Bomba. There, your tent with chairs and a sunbed awaits you, along with your typical coastal lunch (fried tilapia with rice, salad, and patacón). You have the whole day to swim and relax; the drop-off at El Laguito is between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.
