  • Harvest the fruit of the softest coffee in the world yourself.
  • Enjoy a cup of freshly filtered coffee as prepared by our ancestors.

Description

At Finca del Café, you'll take a 2.5-hour tour with a local guide of our Specialty Coffee plantations in the mountains of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, a World Heritage Site in Santa Rosa de Cabal. You'll start at our Hotel Typica, where we'll dress you in a poncho, hat and picking basket, like a real farm worker! At this point, we'll tell you why we've held the title of World Heritage Site since 2011 and the unique attributes that characterize us. You'll learn how the coffee seed is planted and how we dry the different coffee specialties: 'Washed', 'Honey', and 'Natural', the softest coffee in the world! You'll walk along trails with an incredible view of the coffee mountains, surrounded by flowers and fruit trees where you'll see the birds of the region. You'll also cool off under the shade of guadua forests with streams of water. Halfway through the tour, you'll rest at a three-story guadua vantage point where we'll tell you stories about the region and our grandparents. From there, you'll start manually picking the ripe beans from our coffee trees. You'll take these beans to an authentic farmhouse, where you'll experience the artisanal process of pulping, roasting on a wood-burning stove, and tasting freshly brewed coffee. At the end, you'll receive a refreshing coffee-based surprise. You'll be an expert in our coffee culture!
