Description

The experience begins very early in the morning, departing from the city of Pasto and heading for the foothills of the Galeras National Natural Park, known since ancient times as Urkunina. During the tour, you will enjoy Andean landscapes, rural farmland, and views of the imposing volcano that accompanies the entire journey. Upon arriving in the rural area, you will be welcomed by a local farming family, where you can learn about some of their traditions and share a traditional breakfast prepared over a wood-fired stove. Afterward, we will begin our hike to Laguna de Telpis, following nature trails surrounded by frailejones, moorland vegetation, and the pure mountain air. The route offers unique panoramic views of the Galeras Volcano area, as well as ideal spots for photography and connecting with nature. Telpis Lake is considered a sacred place by the region's indigenous and farming communities, making this experience a journey rich in nature, culture, and spirituality. At the end of the hike, we will return to enjoy a traditional rural lunch before heading back to the city of Pasto.
