Looking to experience the local culture in a natural way? In 1920, the paisas began to adapt imported trucks to transport people and goods at the same time when Colombia had practically no roads. Along those impossible roads of Antioquia, the first chiva climbed. It carried farmers, chickens, sacks of coffee... even brides for their weddings! That's how our chiva was born. Not from an elegant factory, but from the paisa ingenuity that never gives up. This tour begins at the Éxito supermarket located in San Juan (Calle 44) with Carrera 70 (you won't find a place with better access by public or private transportation). A tour guide will provide a complete overview of the tour and the experience. The first destination on this tour is Parques del Río, an innovative urban project that has transformed the banks of the Medellín River into beautiful green spaces. Here, you will capture memorable photos with the backdrop of one of the city's most iconic urban renewal projects, which has received multiple international awards and symbolizes the remarkable transformation of Medellín. After soaking up the riverside atmosphere, the tour continues to Avenida 33, where you will have the opportunity to purchase refreshments and use private facilities before continuing the adventure. This brief stop allows you to recharge your batteries while experiencing an area of nightclubs and bars frequented by locals. The journey then ascends to the spectacular Mirador de Las Palmas, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Medellín nestled in the Aburrá Valley. (Bring a jacket for the cold.) This observation point not only provides perfect photo opportunities, but also a chance to experience the local cuisine. After descending back into the city, you will cross the Puente de La 4 Sur, connecting to the exclusive district of El Poblado.
