Description

Our Tour to La Carbonera – Tochecito Canyon starts every day at 8:00 a.m. from Salento. We'll start the adventure by climbing in a traditional 4x4 Jeep Willys, which will take us up to 3,400 meters through one of the most impressive Andean landscapes. Along the way, we'll make several stops to admire the surroundings, take photos, record videos, and learn about the history, geography, and biodiversity of the Tochecito Valley. Once at the highest point, we'll descend again in the Jeep for about 5 kilometers to start an unforgettable hike through the Palm Forest of La Carbonera, home to the largest concentration of wax palms in the world, the national tree of Colombia. The trail, about 5 kilometers downhill, offers spectacular natural viewpoints, perfect for taking in the magnitude of this unique ecosystem. During the hike, you'll have plenty of opportunities to spot birds, connect with nature, and learn more about the forest's fauna and flora. At the end of the tour, we'll arrive at a traditional farm where we'll visit a beautiful waterfall, ideal for cooling off or simply enjoying the scenery (swimming is optional). After the visit, you can enjoy a typical lunch of the region, prepared with local ingredients and designed to recharge your batteries in the middle of the tranquility of the countryside. Finally, we'll board the Jeep Willys again to head back to Salento, wrapping up a day full of nature, adventure, and local culture.
