Description
The day begins with pick up from your accommodation in downtown Cartagena at 07:00 am. From there we will depart by land to Baru Island. Upon arrival, at approximately 8:30 am, you will receive all the necessary equipment for the kayak trip, along with a brief introduction to paddling techniques and safety measures by expert guides. At 9:00 am, the adventure begins in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. Along the way, you will witness the amazing contrast between the tropical dry forest that borders the island and the white sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. From the kayak, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Rosario Islands, a paradise that enriches the experience of each paddle. At 11:00 am, you will arrive at the southern tip of Baru, a hidden corner where lush mangroves create an ecosystem full of life. Here you will explore the natural tunnels while learning about the importance of this habitat and the relationship that the Barulero people have maintained with the mangrove throughout their history. At the end of this morning cruise, you will enjoy a typical lunch at 12:30 pm, where local flavors will connect you even more with the essence of Baru. Afterwards, you will have free time to relax, either bathing in the warm waters or exploring more of the island. At 3:00 pm, you will return by kayak to Cholón, where the trip will conclude at 4:00 pm.
