Directions to La Merced Archaeological Museum
The Museum is part of an architectural ensemble that includes: The Museum of Art colony, the church of La Merced and this museum.
The house where he hosts the museum is in itself a treasure trove of the colonial architecture which is well worth knowing. Built with thick adobe walls, ceilings of two waters in tile roof and white facade.
The sample is composed mainly of ceramic pieces whose historical value is incalculable. Built under the ground, in the inner garden of the museum there is a replica of a funerary temple as the ones that can be found in the archaeological park of Tierradentro national.
Open to the public since 1979, the museum has six permanent exhibition rooms and a room with rotary exhibition which changes every month and a half.
