Description
At the Coffee Farm, you will spend two and a half hours with a local tour guide touring our Special Coffee plantations in the mountains of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, a World Heritage Site in Santa Rosa de Cabal. You will start at our Typica Hotel, where we will dress you in a poncho, hat, and harvesting basket, just like a real farmer! Here, we will tell you why we received the title of World Heritage Site in 2011 and the unique attributes that characterize us. You will learn how coffee seeds are planted and how we dry the different coffee specialties: 'Lavado,' 'Honey,' and 'Natural,' the smoothest coffee in the world! You will walk along trails with incredible views of the coffee mountains, surrounded by flowers and fruit trees where you will see the birds of the region. You will also cool off in the shade of guadua forests with water streams. Halfway through the tour, you will rest at a three-story bamboo viewpoint where we will tell you stories about the region and our grandparents. From there, you will begin the manual harvesting of ripe beans from our coffee trees, which you will take to an authentic peasant house, where you will experience the artisanal process of pulping, roasting over a wood fire, and tasting freshly filtered coffee. At the end, you will receive a refreshing coffee-based surprise. You will be an expert in our coffee culture!Includes
