El Peñol rises 200 meters (656 feet) from the surrounding plains and is visible for miles around the countryside. The majestic surroundings of the Embalse Peñol-Guatapé, one of the country's largest lakes, were created in part by the construction of a hydroelectric dam that provides 30% of Colombia’s electricity supply. 6-Minute Flight Over Peñol Rock:  Enjoy a 6-minute flight around the most emblematic reservoir of Colombia. Make a 360-degree turn by Peñol Rock, and see the monasteries, Malecon, and the green area of the dam. For this option, you need to make your own way to Guatapé, and meet your group at the meeting point.
