Monte Sacro café-bar is a lavish restaurant in Cartagena's walled city serving traditional food in authentic surroundings.
The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. There is a large colonial-style balcony overlooking the Plaza Bolivar, where you can watch the hustle and bustle of the square below, while enjoying an ice-cold cocktail. The seating area is spacious, with balcony tables, sofas, and inside café tables to choose from. Inside tables are beautifully lit with low-level lighting and candles.
The food is traditional, with a large menu consisting of salads, a huge range of seafood, meat dishes, and pasta. While the wine list is not extensive, the wines served are very good quality.
The restaurant is a good place to see some traditional live music in a romantic atmosphere. Mellow music is played throughout your meal, and they have live music later on. If you come on the weekend you can see live Cuban bands.
