Description
☕ Coffee Tour - From the seed to the cup
Location: Finca Los Hoyos, rural area of Barichara, Santander.
Duration: 4 to 5 hours
Modality: Experiential experience - agritourism - gastronomy
Immerse yourself in a sensory and authentic experience in the heart of Barichara's coffee region. The Coffee Tour in Finca Los Hoyos is an invitation to live the complete process of artisan coffee, from the seed to the cup, in a rural environment full of nature, history and peasant tradition.
The experience begins with a guided walk through the coffee plantations, where the visitor will learn about the varieties of coffee cultivated, the agro-ecological conditions of the land, and the cultivation methods used. During the harvest season, participants can join in the manual harvesting of the ripe beans, accompanied by local coffee growers who share their knowledge and ancestral techniques.
Afterwards, access is gained to the artisanal processing area, where the process of pulping, fermentation, washing, and natural sun-drying is observed. The storage and conservation practices of the bean are explained, as well as the challenges and care of the coffee growing profession.
The next stage includes a roasting and grinding demonstration, where visitors actively participate in the preparation of the coffee using traditional methods such as the cloth strainer, the peasant pot or the French press. A guided tasting is carried out to identify the aromas, flavors and profiles of the coffee produced on the farm.
To close with a flourish, a typical peasant lunch is offered, prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked on a wood stove. The menu highlights local products and is accompanied by a cup of special coffee, while enjoying the mountainous landscape and rural hospitality.
